Episode # 54 – Copenhagen Distortion Festival 2010: Raving Street Parties, Thousands of People & More

Bookmark and Share

This is one of the craziest yet most friendly street party we've ever been to. Thousands of people gathered on the streets of Nørrebro, Vestebro etc. to celebrate the Copenhagen city by throwing in some cool, electronic, edgy music parties. And of course lots of beer. We also managed to speak with the Founder of Distortion, Thomas Fleurquin, who shares his vision, concept, culture and future for the Distortion.

From the Distortion website: Distortion, a Celebration of Copenhagen Nightlife, was founded in 1998 - in Mantra, Tivoli, Copenhagen, as a one day festival celebrating Copenhagen's rising clublife; In 2000, Distortion became a 5-day mobile party, invading one Copenhagen neighborhood per day.

    Great episode guys!

It was great to see Tim so excited! he usually is really on the serious side, his energy was quite contagious on this one. Loved his passion about the topic!

Cool interview! I am moving to Copenhagen to attend to CBS in August, and I can tell I am not quite ready to bike there! I am from Mexico city, and I get to bike once every few years lol.

I am gonna research in the website about traffic infraction fees for bikers, I am sure I am gonna commit a few if I dont inform myself.

    Congratulations guys!

Yannick – glad you liked the interview ;-)
Mohmed – well, you should move here than!
Victor – thanks for the encouragement! Am I serious usually? Hmmm, I’ll have to work on that for future episodes because ‘in real life’ I’m not all that serious of a guy, that’s for sure! :-D But it is true that Distortion is a subject that is definitely close to my heart! As for bike fines and rules, well, personally I’ve broken pretty much every cycling rule there is (actually, there’s probably a rule against doing interviews while cycling, come to think about it!) but hey, I manage just fine! :-) You’ll have fun hear when you come.
